The last check that Marilyn Monroe signed, and possibly the last signature that she gave, will be featured in Heritage Auctions' Entertainment & Music Memorabilia auction on July 24 commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Monroe's death. Dated Aug. 4, 1962, the day before her death, the $228.80 check was used for the purchase of a white chest of drawers from Pilgrim's Furniture. It is estimated at over $10,000. Also to be auctioned is a signed photo given to an L.A. police officer who let the star go without a speeding ticket with the stipulation that she send him an autographed photo. The photo has an estimated worth of at least $8,000 but will likely be sold for "considerably more," according to the auction house, which has 15 lots commemorating her fame.
