A 38 year old Indianapolis man shot and killed in Portage Monday died of single gunshot wound to the left side of the neck. 19 year old Chicago man was sentenced to four-years in prison Tuesday in the shooting death of a Schererville woman. The Times reports Osvaldo Salazar was convicted last month of involuntary manslaughter, unlawful use of a weapon, and concealment of a homicide in the July 2011 death of 26 year old Holly Hieber, but the judge vacated the concealment charge.
