Drivers are being urged to slow down and stay alert when encountering crews patching potholes on interstates, US highways and state routes after a 33 year old Chesterton woman hit the rear of an INDOT truck this morning. Indiana State Police Lowell Post reports the woman, who was southbound in the left lane of State Road 49, near County Road 11-hundred North, was allegedly following another vehicle too closely when it made an abrupt change into the right lane and the woman was unable to avoid striking the INDOT patching dump truck in front of her. State Police report no one was injured in the incident that occurred at approximately 11:30am.
