In Lake County, Indiana State Police say a 44-year-old Demotte woman was injured this morning when she lost control of her car on I-65 and it went airborne into some trees.
A preliminary investigation revealed that around 8 am a 2008 Mazda was north bound on I-65 when the woman lost control of her vehicle for unknown reasons. Police say the roadway in this area was not receiving snow and was dry.
The Mazda went off the roadway, hit a ditch and went airborne literally into the trees. Troopers say the woman was wearing her seat belt and was taken to Saint Anthony’s Hospital in Crown Point with non-life threatening injuries. The Mazda was a total loss.
