The Indiana State House today passed an amended bill that prevented Hoosiers from being charged for disposing toxic materials at recycling locations. State Representative Chuck Moseley, of Portage, worked across the aisle to change House Bill 1342 to preserve funds for those programs.
Moseley says Porter County's hazardous waste program has been acclaimed for its efforts to encourage the safe and practical disposal of hazardous waste and chemicals, and the program would have been severely hampered had the bill been allowed to remain as is. The amended bill now heads to the Senate for further action.
