Portions of northwest Indiana are under a Winter Storm Warning, including Porter County, which is why the Porter County Sheriff's Office wants to remind residents of the snow ordinance that goes into effect for the unincorporated areas of the county when two or more inches of snow falls. Public Information Officer, Sgt. Larry LaFlower says its is important residents adhere to the ordinance so snow plows can get the streets cleared out.
The National Weather Service in Chicago reports anywhere from three-to-six inches of total snow accumulation expected as the Winter Storm Warning is in effect from tonight to tomorrow night for Lake, Porter and LaPorte Counties.
