The suspect in the shooting late Wednesday night inside the Safe and Sound Senior Citizen Social Club faces numerous felony charges, including attempted murder. According to the probable cause affidavit filed in Lake County Superior Court, 23 year old Kendall Reed has been charged with four-counts of attempted murder, three-counts of battery, battery by means of a deadly weapon, felon carrying a handgun and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.
Five people were injured by gunfire, including Reed, who according to court documents was taken into custody after coming out of a back bathroom in the social club. A silver semi-automatic handgun was reportedly found in the bathroom sink along with an empty magazine.
Reed was on parole for the crime of armed robbery with a firearm at the time of the shooting, that occurred around 11:30 Wednesday night. Police believe robbery is a possible motive.
