In Indiana, two couples from the Region last week joined in a growing legal fight challenging the Hoosier state's ban on same-sex marriages. The week before four same-sex couples from southern Indiana filed a federal suit asking that Indiana recognize marriages from other states and issue marriage licenses to gay couples. A similar lawsuit was announced just over a week ago on behalf of three same-sex couples from Munster, Chesterton and Whitestown. Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller issued a statement reiterating that he would defend the state's marriage law.
