The last four Lake County communities yet to sign onto the county's E-911 consolidation have all signed off on a joint resolution drawn up on behalf of the group. Cedar Lake, Schererville, Highland and most recently St. John officials have approved a resolution that supports the plan if certain conditions are met. The document, which now will go to the County Council, among other things, expresses concerns over cost and staffing commitments. The consolidation of Lake County's seventeen town, city and county police and fire dispatch centers is mandated by state law. If it doesn't happen by the end of this year, Lake County stands to lose millions in funds.
