The Board of Directors of the Northwest Indiana Regional Development Authority today approved three-point-three million dollars in incentives for job creation initiatives in Lake and Porter Counties. RDA President and CEO Bill Hanna says that will help bridge the gap between another state's offer and what the RDA can provide in the event there is a shortfall in incentives.
Hanna told the Region News Team the funds will be used to support the two projects, one in Hammond, the other in Portage, which combined would result in approximately 33 million dollars in investment and the creation of up to 285 jobs. No further details were made available as they remain confidential pending completion of the deals, but Hanna says the hope to have the projects finalized in the next four-weeks.
