Celebrate Northwest Indiana Earth Day Saturday 4/19

Northwest Indiana's largest Earth Day Celebration takes place this weekend at the Porter County Expo Center in Valparaiso, sponsored by the Recycling and Waste Reduction District of Porter County.  Not to be confused with Collections Day in May, Donna Stuckert the district's Public Education Coordinator told the Region News Team that this 9th annual family-friendly event is all about fun, learning, and celebrating the planet, " This is the one day out of the year where we want people to come and enjoy and learn and have a great day."   Stuckert says more than 80 exhibitors and a program lineup will, "entertain as well as educate."  For anyone wondering why an Earth Day event would be celebrated indoors the coordinator says, "we have a lot to offer and programs that we wouldn't be able to offer if it weren't indoors."
Northwest Indiana Earth Day 2014 is Saturday, April 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.at the Porter County Expo, Expo East and 4-H Buildings (three buildings), 215 E. Division Rd., Valparaiso.
