The Lake Station schools have a new superintendent, someone who not only graduated from the local high school but also started his career in education in the district. The Lake Station School Board has approved a three-year contract with Tom Cripliver, a 1979 Edison alum. Cripliver is currently assistant superintendent for the neighboring River Forest Community School Corporation. He also worked in Elkhart and Rockford before returning to the Region about seven years ago. He'll be replacing retiring superintendent Dan DeHaven effective July first.
