Just a little north of the Indiana/Michigan state line, officials say two teenage girls are rescued from Lake Michigan after drifting out about three-hundred yards from shore at Camp Sokol in the New Buffalo area while sunbathing on a raft. The girls used a cell phone to call their parents, who then dialed 911. Rescuers went out by boat to bring the 14-year-olds safely back to dry land around noon Michigan time Sunday. Authorities in Berrien County say the teens were not wearing life jackets. A private boat stayed with the girls until help arrived.
