An observance was recently held honoring patients who have survived cancer at Franciscan St. Margaret Health's Hammond and Dyer campuses. The observance was part of the annual National Cancer Survivors Day program. Officials report guests were recognized by years of survivorship, ranging from five-to-25 plus. Cindy Duran, Franciscan St. Margaret Health oncology and breast cancer director says it is an amazing event and everyone who participates, from the volunteer worker to the families and survivors themselves, goes home with a good feeling.
