Ronald Skertic
Lake Station Police Chief Kevin Garber Sr. is asking for help from citizens in finding a 66-year-old resident missing since Monday night. Authorities say Ronald Skertic, a white male, 5 foot 10, weighing 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, was last seen at Park View Nursing Home in Lake Station and is believed to be in danger and in need of medical attention. It is unknown what type clothing Skertic was wearing at the time and he is believed to be traveling on foot. Police say it's been reported that Skertic has medical complications and has not taken his medication since last seen.  Chief Garber says Skertic is known to frequent several of the businesses along Ripley Street in Lake Station, including Burger King and Road Ranger Truck Stops, as well as several businesses along Central Avenue also in Lake Station. A Regional Silver Alert was issued for Skertic Wednesday. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Lake Station Police Department at 219-962-1186 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
