The NSA Girls Fast Pitch World Series is coming to Northwest Indiana this week, with opening ceremonies -- and a number of road restrictions -- in downtown Valparaiso tonight (Mon Jul 23 2012).  Three-thousand athletes, ages 8-18, will take part in the softball tournament in various locations throughout Lake, Porter, and LaPorte Counties. Monday evening a parade steps off from Central School in Valparaiso at approximately 6 pm, ending at Central Park Plaza where the Opening Ceremonies will be held until 9. The South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority says the parade will result in limited available parking downtown and road closures from about 4- 7pm Monday evening.
Street closings include:
Erie St. from Washington St. to Franklin St.
Chicago St. from Franklin St. to Morgan Blvd.
Jefferson St. from Washington St. to Franklin St.
Lincolnway from Lafayette St. to Michigan St.
Lafayette St. from Lincolnway to Indiana Ave.
