Multiple departments including Valparaiso and Union Township are responding to a structure fire on Sassafras Drive in Salt Creek Commons in Union Township in Porter County. The subdivision is just south of South Haven and west of Valparaiso. We have reports that the front of a house was fully engulfed when the call came in shortly before 8:30 am. Porter County Sheriffs Police advise the house is in the area of Sassafras Drive and Robyn Road. No word at this time whether anyone is inside the house.
