LaPorte Co Sheriff Dept The 29 year old driver of a single vehicle crash this morning in LaPorte County that took the life of his passenger has been arrested. The LaPorte County Sheriff's Office reports a judge today found probable cause to charge the 29 year old LaPorte man with operating while intoxicated and operating while intoxicated, causing death. Authorities were called to the scene around 2:30 this morning, along U-S Highway 35, just north of LaPorte. County Coroner John Sullivan says 26 year old Jacob Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene due to massive blunt force trauma, after being ejected from the vehicle, which he says was heading southbound at a high rate of speed prior to the crash, when it left the roadway and struck a number of trees before coming to rest in a wooded area. The Sheriff's Office says the incident remains under investigation.
