Authorities in Cook County announced today they have located an eight-month old boy whose mother fled with him from a Chicago treatment center on April 8th. The Cook County Sheriff's Office says the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, or IDCFS, issued a child protection warrant for the infant on April 18th, after his 41 year old mother, who is on parole for retail theft, failed to show up for an appointment. The child was found Monday, the same day the Sheriff's Office received the warrant, in west suburban Oak Park, and was returned to IDCFS custody. Since October of 2012, 133 children have been recovered by the Sheriff's Child Protection Unit.
