A special spruce got a new home over the weekend, just in time for the Christmas season. The twenty-five tree at Forest Park in Valparaiso was in the path of a path that's being built, and Horticulture Superintendent Steve Martinson suggested moving her to the island at the new five-points roundabout rather than lose her. The tree is said to be one of the trees in downtown Valpo back in the 1980s decorated during for the holidays and later planted in parks. The city is planning to decorate her again this holiday season in a special tree-lighting and roundabout opening ceremony in late November.
