Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday. Saturday night/Sunday morning when we turn clocks back an hour and return to Standard Time. Fire departments around the Region remind residents that it's a great time to also change the batteries in your smoke detectors. Beginning in 2006, all of Indiana started observing Daylight Saving Time. Before then, most of the state stayed on Eastern Standard Time year round. Now, most of the state remains on Eastern Time, but also makes the switch to Daylight Saving Time in the Spring. The Region is on Central Time, along with a handful of counties in the far southwestern corner of the state.
