Amber Thomas recorded the final laughs of her daughter, Emily, 3, before she underwent a life-saving tracheotomy. The procedure would enable Emily, who has cerebral palsy, to breathe but would put a hole in her neck and render her unable to communicate vocally for the rest of her life.
