The Indiana Supreme Court Tuesday overturned the life sentence for a woman convicted of killing her two-year-old cousin, Jada Justice, in June 2009, instead ordering a 65-year-old prison sentence for Engelica Castillo, who was convicted of murder, neglect of a dependent, battery and false informing. Officials say Castillo's co-defendant and then-boyfriend Timothy Tkachik pleaded guilty in connection with the case and cooperated with authorities, testifying against Castillo.
