It's back-to-school time around the Region... in fact, some students go back today... Kankakee Valley... Lake Central's first day for students is this Wednesday, and many schools in Lake, Porter and LaPorte Counties are back in session next week. Porter County Sheriffs Police Captain George Gonzalez is urging all area motorists to be careful. Captain Gonzalez says it's very important for everyone to give themselves extra time, watch your speed, pay attention to bus stops, watch for sudden movements by children, and to pay attention to school buses and make sure to stop when the school bus stop arm is extended -- that's the law.
