A gas line break currently has Roosevelt Rd. closed between Glendale and McCord. Sgt. Mike Grennes, Public Information Officer of the Valparaiso police says crews working on waterlines in the area apparently ruptured a gas line and now NIPSCO repairs are on scene. Sgt. Grennes says fire trucks are on scene too as a normal procedure to gas line repairs. The police spokesman emphasizes that near by Thomas Jefferson Middle School is in no danger however, NIPSCO crews are saying that the repairs will take at least four hours to complete, which will be past the school's normal dismal time. Grennes wants us to inform parents that they pick pick up their kids at the normal 3:30 after school time but to be sure to approach the school on Roosevelt Road from the south. Thru traffic is able to continue across Glendale.
