The Salvation Army got assistance from a group of workers who are used to helping others in need. Through it's "Fill the Boot" annual campaign, the Hammond Fire Department donated 15-hundred dollars earlier last Thursday to the Salvation Army to help the organization in stocking food in its pantry, according to http://www.nwitimes.com/. Reports say the Salvation Army had to shut down its pantry in Munster for three weeks in August because of a lack of food. The pantry has since reopened through community support, according to the article.
