A 32 year old Gary man was convicted and sentenced on Thursday for voluntary manslaughter. The Lake County Prosecutor's Office says Kasiim Weaver received 34 years in prison by the Department of Corrections. Prosecutor Bernard Carter says Weaver was in an altercation, on or about June 26, of 2010, and because of a fight with the victim, John Hargrove Jr, Weaver became angry, pulled a gun and shot the Gary man.
