A fund has been established to aid a family that became displaced after a fire on September 27th, in Gary. The Nancy Johnson fund has been set up at Chase Bank, according to http://www.nwitimes.com . According to published reports, Lake Ridge Fire Chief Pat Booth says while the fire is not considered to be suspicious, the cause has been deemed “undetermined”, and possibly electrical in nature. Lake County Sheriff's Department Officer Amber Thomas entered the fully engulfed home and was able to individually retrieve a 28 year old man and his 80 year old grandfather, who were both treated at the scene. Officer Mike Stewart was able to pull two-dogs out of the home's garage, one of which died due to smoke inhalation.
