The Times today unveiled their 2012 All-Area Prep Football Team and their Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year. For the second year in a row, Merrillville senior quarterback Jake Raspopovich and Lake Central junior standout Gelen [ghell'-en] Robinson earned the offensive and defensive top spots respectively. The Times also today named East Chicago Central's Stacy Adams their prep football Coach of the Year. The former Valparaiso University head coach took the Central High Cardinals to a 9-2 record this year.

The entire first and second All-Area team lineups can be seen in today's Times, along with honorable mention players by conference. You can also look back at the area Offensive and Defensive Payers of the Year... and Coaches of the Year.... stretching all the way back to the 60's.
